I heard dermal fillers make you look funny. Is that true?

Your results from dermal filler treatments are highly dependent on who is doing the injecting. Will Botox make me look frozen or overdone?

Again, this is highly dependent on who is performing your treatment. With a highly trained injectionist, you should never look overdone. The goal of Botox injections is to gently enhance the appearance of your face, not to make you look frozen or like you clearly had work done.

A skilled injectionist will know just how many units of Botox are appropriate for your unique facial structure and aesthetic goals. To that end, we always perform an extensive evaluation prior to performing your Botox treatment.

I heard Botox can treat excessive sweating. How does that work?

You heard correctly! Botox can absolutely be used to treat excessive sweating. Hyperhidrosis, the clinical term for excessive sweating, affects millions of people and has been historically difficult to treat.

However, in 2004, the FDA approved Botox for the treatment of excessive sweating in the underarms. Just a few injections in your underarms impede the signals that tell your sweat glands to activate. After treatment, you’ll be sweat-free for up to six months! We can also use Botox to treat excessive sweating in other areas of the body, such as the hands.
