How Does Microneedling Work?
Minimally invasive Skin Pen microneedling uses a number of tiny needles that work in concert to create what we call micro-injuries in the upper layer of your facial skin. These slight, controlled injuries stimulate a minor inflammatory response that triggers your immune system to mobilize wound-healing mechanisms to the area. These mechanisms immediately get to work regenerating new skin cells and repairing both the micro-injuries created by the Skin Pen and your pre-existing skin damage.
In addition to triggering your body’s natural healing response, Skin Pen microneedling also works to enhance your body’s natural collagen production. Collagen, the most abundant protein in the human body, is an essential component of healthy, vibrant, voluminous skin. Because this protein plays a central role in your skin’s elasticity, firmness, and structure, increasing your body’s production of collagen promotes smooth, youthful, supple skin.
Microneedling with Exosome Application
A regenerative exosome facial combines the collagen-stimulating capabilities of the Skin Pen with the powerful healing properties of exosomes for a profound anti-aging effect. Exosomes, often referred to as the body’s messengers, communicate with your damaged and aging skin cells to stimulate new, healthy cell growth and development.
Regenerative exosome facials begin with the microneedling portion of the treatment, after which we immediately apply exosomes. After application, these tiny communicators instantly begin working in concert with your body’s immune system to begin the healing and regeneration process. Together, they double down on repairing skin damage, creating new structural proteins, and building new, healthy skin cells.
Why Exosomes?
Scientists have recently discovered that exosomes, not stem cells, guide the formation of new tissues throughout the body. Stem cells—the building blocks of your entire body—secrete these tiny extracellular vesicles as a form of communication between cells. What makes exosomes so unique is what they carry: proteins, lipids, growth factors, and genetic material that represent their parent stem cells. Exosomes transfer this crucial cellular information to new cells to influence their development and proliferation.
On a very basic level, exosomes transfer cellular “blueprints” from healthy skin cells to damaged or dying skin cells. These “instructions” guide the formation of healthy new skin, resulting in a significantly more youthful, smooth, glowing complexion.
Benefits of Regenerative Aesthetic Treatments
Regenerative aesthetic treatments are highly effective for combating an array of skin issues associated with aging and damage. Fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, hyperpigmentation, loose skin, acne, and scarring all respond beautifully to treatment. The best part? Regenerative treatments are far from a quick fix; instead, they actually promote further skin improvements over time.
